Meal: Lunch

Tales from my travels: We were on our way to Cortez, Colorado. It was high time for lunch but there were absolutely no restaurants in sight. Suddenly, my mom and I saw a sign that said café but my dad had driven past it. He went back and finally, with empty stomachs, we got out of the car. I wasn’t expecting much but it turned out to be a wonderful place. They had a beautiful garden filled with flowering plants. I noticed that they also host weddings and parties. We sat at a table by a window and could see the blooming roses and a squirrel running here and there. There was an atmosphere of welcoming hospitality. Everything on the menu looked great. They serve food with Mediterranean and American influences and everything is homemade. They serve brunches on Saturdays and Sundays, dinner on Tuesdays through Sundays as well as lunch from the month of May through October. I had a homemade veggie burger that came on a delicious brioche bun but I would recommend coming for brunch to Kennebec because their breakfast items sounded spectacular.
