Tales from my travels: After promenading through the delightful city of Santa Barbara and its wharf, we climbed back into the car and headed over to Ventura. After checking in at the hotel, my mom and I went out to do the laundry (so much fun!) and returned for dinner. We went to nearby restaurant that was right on the beach front. I wanted to sit outside on the balcony where you could watch the red sun sinking into the sea but they offered us a table inside. Our server was very friendly and talked a lot; she asked us where we were from and where we were headed. They pride themselves in their hand-cut steaks and fresh seafood though they also have some vegetarian options. I almost ordered the Stuffed Portobello but they also had a Stuffed Artichoke, something I found intriguing, so I ordered that instead. Each entrée comes with a salad or soup as well as a baked potato, mashed potatoes, french fries, steamed veggies or a wild rice pilaf. Their desserts sounded really good too and the waitress tried to tempt us with Marla’s Carrot Cake but we were full.
